Spiritual Unity for Peace: Easter Morning in Odesa with Karl Ahlgren

Former Chief of Staff of the U.S. Republican Party, Karl Ahlgren, attended the Easter Spiritual Morning — an event aimed at deepening spiritual unity and supporting interfaith dialogue. The gathering brought together representatives from various spheres of life in shared reflection and prayer for victory, a just peace in Ukraine, and the prosperity of the Odesa region.

Odesa has always been a vivid example of unity among different religious communities and nationalities living in the region. The harmonious coexistence of various faiths is largely a result of the prayer breakfast movement and other spiritual initiatives. These efforts play a vital role in uniting society, especially in times of resistance to Russian military aggression.

“This time, my visit is connected to ministering to soldiers I met in rehabilitation centers. After that, it was important for me to see them on the frontlines. It’s necessary because we Americans now understand that Ukrainians are fighting for life-affirming principles that form the foundation of our civilization. I disagree with the approach our country took during your president’s visit to the U.S.,” emphasized Karl Ahlgren.

For over 40 years, Ahlgren has worked with Republicans in Washington, serving as Chief of Staff in Congress. He also actively advocates for Ukraine through church and personal networks, stating:

“As a long-time Chief of Staff in Congress, I have seen Ukraine with my own eyes and can testify to the truth. That’s why advocacy is important, especially when it happens through personal communication,” he added.

Pavlo Unguryan, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Alliance for the Recovery of Ukraine, highlighted the geopolitical significance of the region, noting that the security belt from the Baltics to the Black Sea is the foundation of our civilization, and that Ukraine will continue to actively promote this position. Meanwhile, Veniamin Unguryan invited participants to the upcoming Black Sea Prayer Breakfast, emphasizing the importance of such spiritual gatherings for unity and support.

During the Easter Spiritual Morning, participants heard from speakers who shared their thoughts and experiences. The event served as a reminder of the value of interfaith dialogue and joint efforts to support Ukraine on its path to peace and prosperity. United by shared values, the participants reaffirmed their readiness to face challenges together, relying on spiritual solidarity.
