The forum became a platform for discussing important issues related to the reconstruction of Ukraine and its future. The participants of the discussions focused on such aspects as the state policy of reconstruction, transparency of administrative services in the construction sector, donor attraction, economic development strategies and approaches that can be successful in Ukraine.
Over 8,000 guests attended the two-day forum and 100 speakers took part in 20 panel discussions, including architects, urbanists, politicians, journalists, NGOs, international foundations, and the Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance.
Yuriy Maslov, Chairman of the Alliance, took part in the panel discussion “What do you need to know to attract donors?”
“If the first forums were filled with people with distracted eyes, now the sense of reconstruction is being formed, and thoughts are being combined into something textured. The forum surprised me with brilliant presentations by Ukrainian stakeholders who are looking for themselves in the restoration of Ukraine. Overall, the forum was very useful and positive,” he said.
“We had a conversation with representatives of international companies to discuss secondary recycling and environmental issues. There are certain points on which we have reached agreement, and our Austrian partners have promised to supply us with a machine for recycling building debris within the next year. It is important to note that this is an investment rather than charity,” commented Mark Koestelboim, a member of the Alliance’s Board of Directors, who also took part in the panel discussion “Happy Cities. How to add happiness to Ukrainian cities?”
The forum emphasised the importance of developing a unified plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as the need to attract both foreign and domestic investors for the development of cities. This event helps us all to work together to rebuild Ukraine efficiently and effectively.
