The Deputy Chair of the Board of the NGO Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance, Mykyta Laktionov, has joined the newly established Youth Council under the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
For the Alliance, this step means strengthening the link between regional practice and national strategies. We understand the challenges faced by communities on the ground and now gain a platform to transform this practical experience into concrete public policy decisions.
“At the inaugural meeting with Vice Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, it became clear that the Ministry needs a real partner capable of providing rigorous yet constructive expertise from the field. The Council includes people with very complex experience, but also a strong ambition to take responsibility. Our shared task is to move from discussions to fundamental decisions that will help keep people in the country,” comments Mykyta Laktionov.
Within its work in the Council, Ukraine rebuilding alliance will focus on developing an effective housing policy that provides young people with accessible tools for living and working in communities, as well as strengthening the economic capacity of territories through the development of employment and the introduction of new financial mechanisms for job creation.
Special attention will be given to the integration of internally displaced persons and veterans into the socio-economic life of communities, as well as improving local governance and increasing transparency, which is an important condition for trust from international partners and donors.
