Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art is 100 years old

This museum has a unique collection for Ukraine, which is fascinating in its diversity and richness. At the beginning of its existence, it was formed from small private collections. Today, the museum owns numerous works of painting, sculpture, graphics, and decorative and applied arts from around the world. It remains one of the most important cultural centres in Ukraine, embodying the spirit of multinational Odesa and bringing together Eastern, Western and ancient art under one roof.

“On the occasion of the museum’s 100th anniversary, it is worth noting its contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of art among the general public. By congratulating the museum on its anniversary, we pay tribute to all those who have worked and continue to work to preserve and develop this unique cultural centre. We hope that the museum will continue its noble mission, inspiring future generations to love art and history,” said Yuriy Maslov, Head of the Alliance for Restoration of Ukraine and the Board of Trustees of the OMWEA.
