On February 24, 2022, the full-scale Russian invasion forever changed the fate of Ukraine, bringing not only horrific destruction but also a challenge that required an unprecedented mobilization of efforts to restore the country. During this difficult period, there arose a need to create an organization that would serve as a bridge between Ukraine and international support.
That is why, in January 2023, in the city of Odesa, at the initiative of Pavel Unguryan, Doctor of Political Sciences Yurii Maslov, and other public and political leaders, as well as specialists from various fields, the Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance was founded.
The mission of the Alliance is to:
- Help Ukrainians return to their homes.
- Rebuild the destroyed infrastructure.
- Create new formats of cooperation between the government, communities, and businesses, based on transparency, control, efficiency, and long-term planning.
The organization strives to:
- Attract investors.
- Combat corruption.
- Establish an expert environment for delivering international aid, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life.
Since its inception, the Alliance has actively collaborated with local authorities, state institutions, construction companies, public organizations, and international partners. Numerous memoranda and agreements have been signed, uniting the resources and expertise of over ten Ukrainian and international organizations. Key partners include:
- Lviv, Mykolaiv, and Irpin City Councils
- State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine
- State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine
- Union of Builders of Southern Ukraine
- Well-Being ConTech
- Association “EU Strategy for the Danube Region”
- LLC “Research Institute Ukrgiprotsement” and others.
International cooperation is a cornerstone of the Alliance’s work. The organization participates in numerous forums and conferences, including:
- Ukrainian Week in Washington
- ReBuild Ukraine Exhibition in Warsaw
- Kyiv Security Forum
- Odesa Black Sea Security Forum
- Odesa Economic Revival Forum
These efforts have facilitated strategic connections with the United States and South Korea. In 2023, the Alliance organized the first Korean-Ukrainian Forum in partnership with the Korea Ukraine New Building Association, during which a memorandum was signed to establish a platform for Ukraine’s restoration. A speech delivered in the South Korean Parliament marked a significant step in promoting the concept of global partnership for reconstruction.
The Alliance focuses on several critical directions:
- Energy Autonomy:
- Collaboration with the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
- Presentation of energy efficiency solutions in the USA.
- Immediate Needs:
- Supply of anti-drone systems.
- Hosting a volunteer forum in Izmail.
- Presentation of a modernization concept for a Rehabilitation Center in Washington.
- Youth Involvement:
- Organization of the forum “Youth & Politics: Points of Contact” in collaboration with the Department of Internal Policy of the Odesa City Council, where over 100 young Ukrainians showcased their commitment to rebuilding the country.
The Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance continues to consolidate efforts to create optimal conditions for life, business, and investment attraction. Its vision is to transform Ukraine into a favorable environment with progressive, economically, and socially sustainable communities by:
- Overcoming the demographic crisis.
- Enhancing environmental friendliness and energy efficiency.
- Promoting the principles of well-being and inclusion.
We believe that the new Ukraine is being built right now—by the hands of those who have faith in it. We invite everyone to join this vital cause!
