Ukrainian Week in Washington 2026: Strategic Partnership, Value-Based Diplomacy, and New Horizons for Restoration

The fifth anniversary Ukrainian Week, held in the United States capital from February 2 to 7, 2026, became an event of unprecedented scale. This February week turned Washington into the epicenter of Ukrainian diplomacy, uniting approximately two thousand delegates around a common goal: defending freedom and the large-scale restoration of Ukraine.

The event acquired special historical symbolism, as it took place against the backdrop of preparations for the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence and coincided with the 20th anniversary Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast. It was a week of deep, multi-level conversations with American society, politicians, and businesses about our shared future amidst global challenges.

During these days, intensive work continued at leading Washington venues, including the Capitol and the Washington Hilton. The Ukrainian delegation was represented at the highest level: from government officials, ministers, parliamentary leadership, and the ombudsman to military personnel (including heroes of the Azov Regiment), chaplains, veterans, community leaders, and representatives of large businesses.

On the American side, influential senators, co-chairs of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus in the House of Representatives, high-ranking White House officials, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as leaders of the largest religious and humanitarian organizations, participated in the open dialogue.

This week encompassed several strategic tracks at once: from participation in the International Religious Freedom Summit and the Security Forum dedicated to the defense of the Baltic-Black Sea region, to a large-scale rally near the Capitol and powerful memorial events.

The culmination of value-based diplomacy was the 20th annual Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast, which took place on February 6 in synergy with the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast. The Ukrainian event united American congressmen, spiritual leaders, and the Ukrainian military in a joint prayer for a just peace and victory.

An important signal was the words of representatives of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, who publicly assured that Ukraine is not left alone in its struggle. It was precisely through the prism of shared Christian values, the protection of life, and human dignity that the Ukrainian delegation conveyed to American partners the bitter truth about the aggressor’s crimes and the destruction of temples, while raising the extremely acute issues of returning abducted Ukrainian children.

The main achievement of Ukrainian Week 2026 was the cementing of bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States of America by building trust at the level of personal contacts. Pavlo Ungurian, Coordinator of the Christian Platform of Ukrainian-American Partnership and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance, summing up the anniversary event, emphasized:

“Over five years, we have managed to build sustainable partnerships between Ukraine and the U.S., develop advocacy within American society, and implement joint initiatives based on Christian and universal human values.”

This trust, forged over the years, is today the invaluable capital that allows us to confidently keep the “Ukrainian issue” at the center of attention of the American establishment.

In addition to the security and value dimensions, the Ukrainian Week opened completely new horizons for economic reconstruction. As part of the events, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Forum dedicated to innovation and regional development took place.

The team of the Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance used this week and the business platforms with maximum efficiency. Traditionally, the main topics of negotiations with partners were strengthening air defense for Ukrainian regions, humanitarian demining of territories, ensuring the safety of export shipping, and attracting systematic direct investments for the reconstruction of Ukrainian communities.

The transition from a policy of survival to a policy of sustainable development requires new approaches in working with allies. Commenting on the significance and practical results of this year’s event, Veniamin Ungurian, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance and Deputy of the Odesa Regional Council, noted:

“Ukrainian Week in Washington is a unique and vital instrument for direct dialogue with decision-makers. Today, we must speak with our allies not only about resilience but also about a concrete strategy for the future. This year, the team of the Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance placed special emphasis on attracting systemic support for the infrastructural and economic reconstruction of our regions. Thanks to such substantive meetings with American congressmen, we are cementing the foundation for the rapid restoration of Ukraine and the strengthening of our national security.”

The fifth Ukrainian Week in Washington once again clearly proved: the voice of Ukraine in America sounds powerful, convincing, and united. From prayers for the preservation of lives to tough negotiations on investments and weapons—every stage of this large-scale forum worked towards a single national goal.

The Ukraine Rebuilding Alliance continues its daily painstaking work at the highest international level so that every such diplomatic mission and every agreement reached is inevitably converted into real help at the front, reliable protection of our skies, and the rebuilding of a free, modern, and economically independent state.
